INTRO

LeBron James was a superstar and a household name before he even stepped into an NBA locker room. That's what happens to a high school basketball star that was a three-time Ohio Mr. Basketball, a two-time USA Today High School Player of the Year, and was featured in SLAM Magazine, Sports Illustrated and ESPN the Magazine before he even graduated high school. Despite the pressure of the world on his shoulders his first year, James won Rookie of the Year honors. He has since become a seven-time NBA all-star and has twice been named league MVP. LeBron James has the body of an all-pro football star, yet his freakish athletic abilities allow him to do things on a basketball court that seem to defy the laws of gravity. Someone with that body size combined with uncanny explosiveness needs a basketball shoe that can offer comfort and durability. LeBron James is one of the most—if not the most—recognized names in professional sports. Nike knew they were getting a future megastar, which made it fitting that his first signature LeBron shoe was named the Nike Air Zoom Generation. The shoe name told the story: a new generation of basketball was being born. As James continued to raise his game to MVP level, his shoes do the same by continuing to improve on design and technology that give James even more of an edge on the hardwood.
